Sophit received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to joining Docsa Capital Management, Inc., Sophit was the Vice-President and Managing Director at a private portfolio management firm in Newport Beach, California, where she oversaw approximately $110 million in Client assets, and where the principal was named as one of the nation's top financial advisors for several consecutive years in the Worth Magazine.

Sophit is experienced in coordinating investment and financial planning activities.  She brings insights from over 40 years of investment and over 28 years of financial planning experience.  Her expertise is in portfolio management, employee stock options, employee benefits, personal income tax planning, retirement planning, and planned giving.

Sophit regularly contributes to her profession and community.  She provides informal pro bono service to those in need around her, as well as through professional association-co-sponsored events, such as staffing the national consumer hotline, co-sponsored by Kiplinger Personal Finance Magazine and NAPFA, the NAPFA-sponsored Money Bus Tour, the Financial Planning Association's Financial Planning Day, and AARP's Social Security Q&A sessions.  On short notice she had stepped in as an instructor in the Personal Financial Planning Certificate Program at the University of California Irvine when the original instructor left just before the quarter began.  Sophit was an invited guest instructor at one of the NAPFA Midwest Regional Conference Basic Training Program.  She had also served as a volunteer member on a CFP Board of Professional Review hearing panel in 2003.  The hearing is part of the CFP Board's process in reviewing and investigating complaints against CFP® practitioners.

Sophit is a NAPFA-Registered Financial Advisor of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), an organization of fee-only advisors.  She is also a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA).
