TIMOTHY J. SCHAUER, CFA®, CPA

Principal, Chief Equity Strategist and Portfolio Manager.

Tim is a principal and Chief Equity Strategist/Portfolio Manager of the firm. In addition to the day-to-day business of the firm, Tim is also responsible for investment research, analysis, portfolio design, investment models, and portfolio monitoring.

He is a CFA® charter holder.  The CFA® charter is a globally recognized credential for investment analysis and management.  He earned his MBA degree from Western Michigan University.

Tim is also a Certified Public Accountant with an accounting degree from Mankato State University (MSU).  He has over 13 years of accounting experience in both public and private settings, and over 32 years of investment experience.

Tim is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants and a member of the Western Michigan chapter of the Investment Analysts Society of Chicago.

Tim also makes a practice of being involved in his community.  He is currently serving as a Treasurer and Interim President of the Kalamazoo Christian School Foundation.  In the past, he had also served as a volunteer treasurer of another local community outreach organization.  Tim had participated as one of the judges in a CFA West Michigan Society's CFA Research Challenge.  The panel listened to competing college teams’ presentations on their analysis of a chosen company.  For over 18 years, Tim had served as a volunteer counselor at a local correctional facility.  During his undergraduate years in Mankato, MN, Tim was active in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization.
